Learn from local artist SAMI JACQ: Participants will learn about the history of floral symbolism within artwork, focusing on the Dutch Golden Age. Additionally, we will discuss the chemical properties of oil paint and mediums and how different pigments have historically been used. Sami Jacq is an emerging artist, born and raised on the outskirts of Atlanta. Her body of work mainly consists of paintings. When she was a sophomore in high school, Sami began painting her favorite songs and soon discovered that she had synethsthesia, a condition that causes her senses to merge and interpret sounds as vivid colors. She feel deeply in love with colors and creative expression, which led her to art school. In 2021, she earned her BFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Sami now focuses on painting dramatic, detailed flowers, commenting on life's fragility and including indertones of her personal faith through the symbolism of nature. She continues to expand her portfolio in the Atlanta area.
